Just for you Stephanie!

Here are our halloween costumes. Jon went as a professional bowler and I went as the classic Witch. On a side note, the dress I wore as my costume was my new year's dance dress from 1999/2000, pretty good huh!

Bout time for an update!

Not the best at posting on this blog so I thought it was about time for an update. Well lets see, here is what happened in September and October...

- Kerri had her baby girl Emelia (Not sure if that is how they are spelling it)

- Stresses about picking out Cabinets for my new house, I know I should just be grateful for the opportunity to have a new house but choosing everything stresses me.

-Trenton rolled over and is now starting to scooch around the room, not quite crawling but he is only 5 Months

- My 27th Birthday, yes I am old

-Halloween, Josh did not want to be anything but we finally won him over with a pirate sword.

-Trenton is now 5 months as I mentioned above. He weights 15 pounds 12 ounces. So much bigger then Josh but still only around the 50% isle. He smiles when ever he sees me, and I love him so much. Oh and a cute thing Josh has been doing lately with Trent is saying "I love you so much" and " Your so cute" as he pats his cheeks.

- Decided 3 days ago that I am finally going to reupholster my 2 wing back chairs, it's been about 3 years in the making but it is underway. We will see if they actually turn out.

Before
Other then that not much has been going on (except for trying to de-clutter my house so I can sell it) but I have determined I need to be better at posting daily occurrences in my life.

We are moving

Well a lot has been going on lately, including the biggest news, our decision to build a new house in Silverado. I'm really nervous about it, afraid we may be going in a little over our heads, but I am also really excited. We just have to get our mortgage set up and hope for an awesome interest rate!

One of the most important things I was looking for was the lot, and by process of elimination we went with Shane homes (Cheapest lot available for the size).
Our new address will be 47 Silverado Skies Bay. The dimension are 11.60 at front, about 37 deep on both sides, and 20 meters across the back. I think it is going to be a good sized backyard, which is what I really wanted for Josh and Trent.

So here is the Floor plan...

We made some major upgrades to the smallest house (and cheapest) house that Shane homes builds, but we are really happy with the layout! One of the major selling points is My Awesome walk through Pantry which I am super excited about, upstairs laundry, and HUGE Bonus Room (We added 70 square feet to this room alone). So with all the changes we made we are looking at 1956 square feet. Jonathan is calling it " The Mushroom house" because our basement and main floor is relatively small 750 s. f. but the upper floor is a whopping 1206! Oh and Jonathan also is really excited by the 21 x22 Garage. Our possession date will be around the end of February. Scary Scary, but very exciting as well. More updates later...

The last few weeks...

So here is an update on what has been going on in the last couple of weeks.

"Putting pennies in my mouth"

On Thursday last week I told Josh that we needed to change his diaper, he decided he really did not want to. As I was trying to control the wiggling boy he decided he should be a smart alec and do something he knew he wasn't supposed to. So he put a penny in his mouth, but because he was laying down he popped it all the way down. So he started choking and I quickly turned him upside down. He threw up, but no penny. Yay for me I have had to go through his bowel movements to see if it has past. I guess I will be taking him to the doctors tomorrow because I was told by the Health Link nurse to bring him in if he hasn't passed it in 3 days. Fun! Anyways the day after he swallowed the penny, I was feeding Trent downstairs and I could hear Josh upstairs playing so I asked him what he was doing. He replied smugly "I'm putting pennies in my mouth" TURKEY (He really wasn't though thank goodness)

Trenton is my fat baby!

At my last doctors appointment, (Trent was 3 weeks 6 days(June 28 th)) the chunky boy weighted a whopping 10 pounds 1.1 ounces. Needless to say the doctor scored an Excellent on his chart for weight gain after birth. Hopefully that will result in more sleep time for me, right? I can dream can't I. Here are some pics at 2 and a half weeks.
Dr Evil

"Could you please pass the butter?"

So OK Josh isn't a very big kid but almost all the fat on his body must have come from butter because seriously the kid loves it. I don't quite understand the appeal but ever since Josh started eating real people food he has loved butter. When ever we go out to dinner he constantly tries to grab all the little packets of butter and eat them straight, it's so funny and disgusting to watch at the same time. So a few weeks back we were having baked potatoes at my mom and dad's house, and we fixed him a potato with of course lots of butter. But he wanted more so Aunt Tracy put more butter on his potato. But again that wasn't enough, a few minutes later, you guessed it, "Could you please pass the butter." Seriously that kid is going to die of clogged arteries before he reaches adulthood.

Why did I think it was a good idea to let my 2 year old paint while I feed Trent?

A week or so after Trent was born Josh asked if he could paint with his paints. So I got out his paints and his big scrapbook for colouring and painted with him. Of course a couple of minutes later Trent started to scream, and wanted to eat. I'm not sure what I was thinking, or if I was thinking at all but instead of putting away the paints right then I went and feed Trent. Josh continues to paint, he painted his paper, then he painted his hands, then he painted his feet and his legs and pretty much all over his little body. I was very glad that Jonathan came home just a few minutes later so I could hose down the boy in a bath without a screaming newborn. Here is some pictures of the beautiful art.

Trenton is a week old

So I thought I would post to say how spoiled I am as a mom! Hehe, well no not exactly I just wanted to give an update on Trent and myself. Trenton is really a very good baby, he sleeps really well on his own and usually only cries when he has to burp or has other gas related issues. He has a really tiny perfectly shaped head, with beautiful red-brown hair, I love it! The first few days he didn't open his too much (they were swollen from trying to come out face up) but he is starting to look around a lot more now and I love to watch him look around. Yesterday as I was holding Trent, and I determined that he looks a lot like Jonathan as a baby, and when I went downstairs to look at Jon's baby book to compare I was quite surprised by how much. He looks so much like him! I'm sure there are some Leishman genes somewhere.

The top 2 pictures are of Jonathan

When he opens his eyes he looks a lot like Josh as well, who was awake and alert for a newborn. Josh is turning out to be a really sweet older brother. He brings Trenton his soother when he is crying and pats his head gently. We brought out some baby bottles on day 3 and Josh decided he needed one too, I knew that would happen. Josh was so cute though later that day when Trent would cry he ran to the fridge to get his little bottle to give to him. Josh's favorite time with Trent is when he has his eyes open, he loves looking at his hands and feet. We gave Josh a little Nerf gun (From his little brother) the day Trent was born, one that he can shoot all by himself and he hardly puts the thing down, maybe he was in his good books because of that. I am so glad that he is transitioning well and hasn't told me to sent him back yet.

As for myself I am doing good. I am managing to get some sleep at night and that makes everything easier. I think I need to buy a scale to see how how well I am doing, but I feel pretty good so that probably is more important than the #'s on the scale. My thanks to all who have helped me stay healthy and well rested this week, I really appreciate it.

Here are some more cute pictures from this week, and stay tuned for the official birth announcement.

My baby is Two and a half today (offically)

So today is the 26 of May, and Josh was born exactly (well by 10:45 tonight anyway) two and a half years ago. I can't believe all the changes that go on in a the first few years of life. Every day I am amazed by the things he does or says. Last Friday, I got Josh's hair cut, Kerri buzzed it! It is so short, and he looks so grown up. He was so upset as we were cutting it, and after we were finished he picked up a clump of hair and tried to put it back on. It was so cute. I am always a little sad every time I get his hair cute because it's almost like I am loosing more and more of his childhood, which is crazy, but how I feel. When Josh sees animals as we are out and about he often asks me "Where is the (puppies, ladybugs, ants) Mommy and Daddy?" I have tried to explain to him that when you get bigger you aren't always with your mommy and daddy. It's so sweet to me that he can't quite figure that out because his whole world is his family. (I am so crying right now). One of Josh's favorite songs is "Happy Family" in which we always sing the verse about Grandma and Grandpa, because he loves them so so much! I am so grateful that both my parents and Jon's parents have such a great relationship with Josh, and especially myself. It is such a blessing to have their love, guidance, encouragement and support 100% percent of the time! I can only hope and pray that I will be able to be that for Josh as he grows. So my ode to Josh has turned into an ode to my parents and Jon's as well, but I am truly grateful for all 5 of these individuals. (Jon are you feeling left out? Love you too!)

Well anyways I am now 5 days overdue and no baby brother for Josh, but it is only a matter of time. I am so excited to meet him and see how Josh changes in his new role as big brother. Hopefully it is sooner then later. MAYBE TODAY ! One can hope.

Here is the new Big Brother do, and not happy.

And some cute before pictures too.

Sitting on pins and needles and up way too early!

I desperately need to buy some curtains for Josh's room. During the winter Josh had a standard wake up of time of 7:15 give or take a half an hour, but lately with the sun rising so early it is much less predictable. Today I woke up hearing noises at 4:55 and it took me a few minutes to realize that Josh was hiding beside our bed. I got him a drink and sent him back to bed but he was up an hour later. Way to early for tired 9 months pregnant mommy!

So even though I was 9 days late with Josh, the last couple of days I've been thinking maybe I might not be this time. I have been saying all along that I will go over but now I am not as convinced. This has me frustrated because I am now just "sitting on pins and needles" wondering when this baby is going to come! I really hate the not knowing part, if I knew that I would have the baby late it wouldn't bother me , I would be completely fine with it. But it when your body keeps playing tricks on you. Ahhh. That being said, I am sure every expectant mom feels the same way, so I have nothing to complain about. Everything else is going well, Jon bought me a new lens for my camera for mothers day. This lens is just a basic 50mm lens, no zoom or fancy functions but it should be great for taking baby pictures. Hope to be posting them really soon!

Adventures with a 2 and a half year old

So yesterday I took Josh to the park and while I was sitting talking to a friend, Josh decided to run off. I started after him across the field but he got to the street before I could catch him (I can only go so fast being 8 months pregnant and all). There was a lady there with her kids and so she was keeping an eye on him. When I got over there I started to lecture him on going on the road with out mommy. Then the turkey wriggled loose from my hold and started to run on the road again. I grabbed for the hood of his coat just as a car was coming. Uhhhhhhhh!!! The car wasn't really close at all to Josh but it was safe to say that Mommies emotions where shot. I don't know who cried more, Josh because I took him home and gave him a time out or myself for the thought of him actually being hit. I have no idea how to get it through to him that he can not run or play on the road.

After I was finished crying I could barely walk my hips where hurting so much from running after the boy, which brings me to another point, I have another one coming in ONE MONTH.

IT'S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN!!!

Am I really ready to handle two of Josh? Well I guess it is a little to late to question it but this summer is going to be interesting.

So next adventure or mishap I should say. Josh was outside with me this morning playing with his sandbox. We have a table sand box and Josh was starting to get bored so he decided that he should climb on to the box. I told him to get down right now because I didn't want him to break his sandbox. After a timeout threat he decides to jump out. Well his shoe got caught on the ledge and he fell right onto the sand covered pavement. Scraped his nose down to his month. His little lip is swollen, for some reason he wanted to put glue on it to make it feel better. Poor little boy.

Well on a happier and belated note, we had a nice easter and here are some pictures.

Josh had a great time painting eggs

Great picture of my toes, I know.

Waking up with Josh

Lately Josh has been waking us up with new and strange phrases. About a month ago woke up and climbed out of bed and poked his head out the door of his room and asked "is anybody home?" a couple of times until we responded.

This morning we got woken up as Josh shouted from his room "Ahoy there!". At first we thought he was having some weird pirate dream, but after the fifth "Ahoy there" we realized he was talking to us. What is the appropriate response to "Ahoy there"? We called back "Ahoy there" and went and got him up.

Ahoy there!

I want to watch it again!

So this morning at 6:20 Josh wakes up screaming and crying " I want to watch it again, I want to watch it again." He said it probably 15 times before I finally went in there and picked him up and took him downstairs. What did he want to watch again? I have no idea! Other news I am 31 weeks pregnant today, that means only 9 more weeks until my due date, ahhhhhhhhhhh. This pregnancy has definitely been faster than with Josh. The worst part about it is that Jonathan and I still haven't got a name picked out for this little boy. Last night we went through about 6 or 7 Hundred names and did not find one we both really like. Such a contrast from with Josh, "oh lets pick a J name because of Jonathan and Jesse (my father in laws name)". "How about Joshua," "sounds good". DONE.

Ok so I'm a Lemming,

So as per this new blog I have become a social lemming, jumping into the world of blogging just because all the people around me have done so. But I guess there are worse things in this world than being a follower. I am actually quite excited about this blog, and I have a few ideas for posts already. I know that it will be nice when I have my new baby boy (not too much longer), people can get all the goods and see pictures as he changes. Hmmm well what else do I say?... Today Josh was playing outside (thank goodness for some nicer weather), and since I haven't taken very many pictures of him lately I thought I should, so here they are.

Jon would say this is an Amanda smile

I'm the King of the Castle (He actually said that too!)

This one turned out better than expected

Love this one
